Temple of the Sun
This morning Amy could have slept in, but the train and roosters had other ideas. So she decided to go for a coffee instead. She got a recommendation for a good coffee shop. It was nice but too early for the coffee shop, so it became a slow breakfast.

Breakfast
The morning activity was a hike to the Temple of the Sun. 200 steps up to the Temple. The views were breathtaking and the experience was magical. The temple was built so that the sun shone through during the solstices.

Hike to Temple of the Sun
After the hike we took a Tuk to the train station.

Our ride to the train
We too the train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. We checked into the hotel but Amy’s key wouldn’t work and the power was out so they couldn’t fix the room. Daniel, our guide swapped rooms so they had time to fix the issues.
We had a few options for the afternoon. Amy really wanted to go to the Machu Picchu museum but logistically we couldn’t get there in time. Instead she went to the butterfly museum.

Butterflies
We stopped by the Paddington statue in the evening because it was Darkest Peru.

Then she tried to go to sleep early because the next day would be busy, but the hotel was noisy and bright which made for a lousy night.
