Yes, we have no Bananas
Sitting on the campground swing

We arrived in Savannah. We looked to see if the Savannah Bananas were playing, but they won’t be here for a week - and we are sure they are sold out.

We left our campsite earlier than we had planned because the campground was lousy. We decided to find someplace for a walk. Greg used the AllTrails app to find a nice rails-to-trails path. Unfortunately, there was nowhere to park with our trailer. The parking was across from a post office and we would have taken all the spots to not block the road. However we were in a very rural area and finding a way to turn around with the trailer was a challenge too. We had to drive about 8 miles before we found a safe place to turn around. The night before, the electricity at our campsite was poor, so we only were able to add about 50 miles charge overnight. This meant that the vehicle charge level was lower than we wanted. We managed to make it to a Tesla Supercharger behind a Cracker Barrel that had a pull-in site for trailers, but we were down to 16 miles! We spent a little extra time and walked to the Starbucks nearby. With a full tank of electrons, the rest of the day was much less stressful.

Next, we stopped at Blythe Island Regional Park for our walk. We took the Zig Zag path around some lakes. As the name implies, it was not a straight path, but it was good to take a break. From there, we stopped for lunch at Buc-ee’s, for “Fresh brisket on the board.” Their merchandise has switched to Easter and summer goods. We are not sure that a bikini with beavers all over it is a necessity.

We are staying at Red Hill Farms, which was the first dairy farm in Georgia and now hosts multiple weddings each weekend at the barns and farm houses. Saturday we saw three weddings happening simultaneously. They didn’t invite us, so we didn’t bring a gift. They have a horse drawn carriage which they used for a wedding party. They also have goats, horses, and ponies. You can buy food to feed the goats and turtles, which swim in the lake. It’s a beautiful location with lots of room to explore. It’s also right near the train tracks. Of course!
