The real thing
No news on the vehicle. We dropped the car off for service but no progress has been made. The estimate for the work be done is an oddly specific 3:51 pm on Wednesday.
So we decided to spend the day exploring Atlanta. On a recommendation, we checked out the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The museum does a deep dive into the Civil Rights movement. The exhibit with sample audio from a lunch counter protest was haunting. Overall they did a great job of describing the fight for civil rights. The top floor has exhibits about human rights around the world.
Across the park was the World of Coke. We had visited the center before, but decided to check it out again since we were in the area. The best part of the World of Coke is the tasting room. You can sample sodas from around the world. The oddest drink was from China. It was a sour plum flavor and tasted like BBQ. Everyone had a strong opinion on that flavor, good or bad. Amy then tried the Beverly drink, which is famous for being the worst tasting beverage there. Greg knew better. Amy decided to suggest Beverly to a couple of kids, warning them about it being bad. They immediately tried it, and the look on their faces was very funny. We decided to try a side-by-side tasting of Diet Coke vs. Coke Zero. Coke Zero was much sweeter. We also tried New Coke, which tasted better than we remembered from back in the day. Overall, it was far more sugar than we usually drink! It was good that we had listened to the Acquired podcast episode on Coca-Cola before today’s visit.
