Optimizing for indoor queues

Optimizing for indoor queues
It’s so cold that the fountain froze

For the record, Greg had nothing to do with today’s title. I guess he is rubbing off on me.

I hope you aren’t getting sick of us complaining about the cold. We are certainly tired of living with the low temperatures. It’s crazy that the temperature is colder in Orlando than Seattle. This morning when I left the trailer, the temperature was 24 (-4). The low in Seattle was 44 (6) which about the high today in Orlando. I was amazed that most people weren’t shivering.

I saw that Expedition Everest was down today because it was too cold to operate. Kind of ironic, given the theme of the roller coaster.

This morning I decided to go to Epcot based on the number of rides that had indoor queues. Again, I will spare the details, but I did get to ride Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind - my favorite Disney coaster - twice. Though I was not happy with the song selection. Disco Inferno is the best option. Period. I then tried the new Test Track and got stuck for 15 minutes on the ride due to a break down. They gave me a pass for another ride as compensation, so I headed to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure where, as you can see, the fountain froze!

Once the queues got too long, I decided to try out the Skyliner, a newish transportation method and a new one for me. It goes between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You have to transfer between lines on the way, and it took longer than I expected, but it was a really nice experience.

At Hollywood Studios, I rode Star Tours enough that two cast members welcomed me back on the ride. Maybe they just liked the Buc-ees hat.

Overall a good day and I managed to not freeze. But I am not heading outside this evening.
