Ode to Buc-ee’s

Ode to Buc-ee’s

On our repositioning drives, we discovered Buc-ee’s and we immediately became fans. For those who have not yet visited a Buc-ee’s, they are a chain of gas stations and convenience stores based in Texas, with most locations in the Southeast. To say it’s just a gas station is an understatement. Each store has hundreds of pumps and some of the world’s largest convenience stores. They even have EV chargers. And really clean bathrooms.

Buc-ee’s is hard to miss on the road. They have humorous billboards sometimes as far as 100 miles away on the interstate.

Inside the store they sell everything from BBQ sandwiches to jerky to fudge and candied nuts. They have their own special snacks like beaver nuggets, which are like Corn Pops cereal.

They also sell merchandise with the mascot, Buc-ee the Beaver.

And so much more. You can get T-shirts and snacks and regular convenience store items. It’s incredibly big and clean.

And the fuel prices are lower than other gas stations. They keep the prices low to get you into the store. It works! We are planning our fuel stops around Buc-ee’s locations. Let’s hope they expand soon to I-5 on the West Coast!
