Miles and miles
Another day, another burrito

We decided that once Greg retired that we would stop having marathon driving days. We would not have the same time constraint. Ha!

We planned to set out on Wednesday and drive through Boise and maybe sightseeing in Zion NP. Well the weather had other plans. Boise was supposed to have a low of 8F. That’s -13C for those who celebrate. Our Diesel heater is having trouble working below 35F. So we changed our route to go through California. We then thought we could visit with friends along the way. Well, there is a huge storm coming through most of the west coast. So plans changed again. Now we are doing a speed run to beat the storm. Last night we made it to Myrtle Creek OR, much farther than our plan. Now we are heading to Bakersfield, at the outskirts of this storm.

Our only stop besides fuel or driver swap was to Roberta’s Taqueria in Williams. We learned that it is possible to get a burrito even if we don’t stop at the Tesla Supercharger

Today became a really long day. Now we have some extra time to figure out tomorrow. Additionally it’s a holiday weekend, so last minute reservations are tricky. They are either gone already, in the path of the storm, or require a 3 day reservation. Greg managed to find a last-minute campsite at Joshua Tree NP; that seemed the best option under the circumstances.

We are spending the night at the Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield. It’s a favorite of ours. They have orange trees at the campsites and you can pick as many as you want. We are enjoying a couple of oranges for dessert tonight. It’s dessert in the desert.
